What It Involves

A quick finger-prick test measuring the glucose level in your blood at the time of your appointment. It is usually done when your urine dipstick shows glucose, your BMI is high, or you report symptoms of diabetes โ€” a single reading may be followed up with HbA1c or a GP referral rather than an immediate pass/fail.
